10 Day Flying Safari - All Inclusive - Amboseli/ Samburu/ Maasai Mara

Day 1 House of Waine, Karen, Nairobi

On arrival in Nairobi you will be collected from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and taken to the House of Waine in the forested suburbs of Karen. This stylish 11 bedroomed boutique hotel is easily accessible to both airports and elegantly furnished throughout. The hotel has a heated swimming pool and is the perfect place to relax after a flight and is located near to the Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen Museum and arts & crafts shops.

Day 2 Amboseli Porini, Amboseli

After an early breakfast you will be collected from the House of Waine and transferred to Wilson Airport for the schedule flight to Amboseli from where you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Amboseli Porini Camp.

Porini Camp is located in the Selenkay Conservation Area, a 15,000 acre private game reserve within a vast tract of land owned by the Maasai People and bordering the Northern boundary of Amboseli National Park. The camp is small and exclusive and accommodates a maximum of 12 guests. It is set up along the lines of the traditional hunting safari bush camp, so there are no permanent structures like bar or restaurant or swimming pool - this is real camping in the bush.

The tents are large and comfortably furnished each with a double and a single bed, solar-powered electric lights, and en-suite bathroom with shower, wash basin and flush toilet. Meals are taken under the shade of an Acacia tree and after dinner you can sit around the campfire and listen to the sounds of the African night.

Day 3 Amboseli Porini

The Conservation area is an important dispersal area for wildlife moving in and out of Amboseli National Park. Until recently this area has not been visited by tourist and hence the animals are truly wild and tend to behave more naturally than those in the parks. The local Maasai community has set aside the Selenkay Conservation Area as a reserve for Wildlife and in return is received an income from tourism activities.

This is used to fund community projects such as schools and water supplies. Employment opportunities have also been provided for the local Maasai People as game rangers, trackers, and camp staff.

In addition to the better-known big game like elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Giraffe and Zebra, there are several less common species such as caracal, African Wild cat, civet, gerenuk, lesser kudu and striped hyena. Private four wheel drive tracks link the Selenkay Conservation Area to the Amboseli National Park so that there is an advantage of game drives in the park as well as in the exclusive reserve. Other activities include guided walks, sundowners, visits to the Maasai Villages and night game drives in the conservation area.

Day 4 Sasaab, Samburu

Depart early in the morning on the scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi, from where you will catch the scheduled flight to Samburu in the Northern Frontier District of Kenya.
